If you ask any Muslim they’ll tell you that Ramadan flies by so fast. Even in summer hours.

We are already two thirds done, and I can’t help but start to feel sad. Ramadan, is not a dreaded month for Muslims, it’s a celebratory month. We wait for it all year long. Imagine that? The Imam at the Friday prayer yesterday mentioned a story that happened to him. He’s a university professor, and while talking to one of his students, the topic came up, that it’s currently the Holy month of Ramadan. The student asked him about the fast. When he explained, she expressed relief that her religion doesn’t require her to undergo such hardships like fasting. After that she decided to try to fast the remaining days of the month!

“Fasting is not a burden, it’s a blessing” and we (humans) somehow recognize it.


We are officially all moved in. We even have our bookshelf all assembled (thanks to my man and uncle T for helping him out).

This is our next door neighbor’s pumpkins. They’re literally growing these on the green area between the street and the sidewalk. (Does this mean summer is over? oh well, carry on…
